Two things decide whether a playground trip works or falls apart: somewhere to leave the car, and somewhere to take a child who suddenly needs the toilet. Plenty of playgrounds in Malta have neither, and you only find out once you have arrived.
Every playground below has both. They are spread across the north, centre, south and Gozo, so there should be one within a reasonable drive wherever you are.

Between roughly June and September, metal slides and rubber surfacing get hot enough to hurt in the middle of the day. Mornings before ten and evenings after five are much more comfortable, and the playgrounds are busier then for exactly that reason.
Shade matters more than equipment in a Maltese summer. Places tagged with a shaded area on FamFlow tend to have mature trees or a covered section, which can extend a visit by an hour.
